15-Year-Old Charged As Adult In Fatal Shooting

A 15-year-old has been charged as an adult in a deadly shooting in Mt. Oliver, police said.
Allegheny County police said officers detained 15-year-old Curtis Williams after at least two people exchanged gunfire in the 100 block of Locust Street around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday.
One person was hit and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as Daryl Massie, 19, of the Northside.
Channel 4 Action News' Sheldon Ingram spoke to Lt. Andrew Schurman, who said the shooting was the result of an ongoing dispute between two families, one from Arlington and the other from Mt. Oliver.
Schurman said Massie and a second person came from behind some hedges and started shooting at Curtis Williams. Schurman said Williams returned fire and a gun battle ensued.
Investigators said Williams fired the fatal shots that hit Massie.
Williams has been charged as an adult with homicide and possession of a firearm by a minor.
He is being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
Resident John Saunders said he spent Wednesday sweeping broken glass from the street after his car was hit at least four times by bullets.
"We're sitting there eating and a shot comes through the window -- pow! It was like four or five shots at a time," said Saunders.
Neighbor Rocky Wazny said it sounded like "somebody was hitting a building with a baseball bat, but I didn't know it was gunshots."
Residents told Ingram that they weren't surprised by the ongoing feud on their streets, but called the situation "sad."
"The end result is deaths, loss of life. You've got one in a penitentiary and another one going to the graveyard. When does it end?" said Gary Johnson.
